Description:
Constant-tension screen roller (AMS-508) designed for passenger railway cars, guided by side wires. The wires cross within the pull bar, allowing it to be positioned securely at any height according to passenger preference. Additional springs integrated along wire to ensure smooth and effortless operation.
The selected side wire system is rated to withstand loads up to 300 lb, ensuring reliable performance under continuous use. The AMS-508 shade has been cycle-tested to over 60,000 operations to verify long-term durability and consistent tension performance.
Given the high-vibration conditions typical of railway environments, the proposed shade design prioritizes durability, serviceability, and ease of installation, making it suitable for both retrofit and new car applications.

- Extruded aluminum (fabric) roll-up tube, made of 6063-T5 alloy.
- Internal constant tension zinc coated steel spring.

- Textured black powder coated or clear anodized pull bar extrusion, allows operating shade at any location.
- Black plastic coated galvanized steel wire for guiding pull bar and maintain multi-position.
- Black powder coated solid steel lower tension bracket with easy access for tension adjustability.
- Woven polyester sun-blocking screen. Meets FMVSS-302 flammability standards and ASTM E662, applicable to the railway industry, ensuring passenger safety.
