Procedure for Adjustment of Mechanical Motor Limits:

This procedure is the same both for 1st and 2nd generation motors.

At first determine which one of the below images represents your situation in order to find out, which adjusting screw is for the top and which one for the bottom limit.

As a general rule for adjusting the shade limit stops, turn either screw counter-clockwise (CCW) to EXTEND the range and turn clock-wise (CW) to SHORTEN the range of the shade, i.e.

Turning CCW - Extends the range (moves the top limit higher, moves the bottom limit lower).
Turning CW - Shorten the range (moves the top limit lower, moves the bottom limit higher.

After turning a screw a few turns, test the result by pressing up / down switch to check the new position
and if not yet correct, repeat this procedure.

Note 1: If for any reason, a motor needs to be removed from the shade and the same motor (or a replacement motor) is later re-inserted again, particular attention needs to be paid on how the motor is inserted into the headrail tube in order to prevent any potential problems. Please consult QRG #16.

Note 2: After you replaced a motor and now notice that the shade is only moving in one direction or moving in neither direction, this does not necessarily mean that the motor is defective but it more likely means that the limits are at their complete end position. To fix this, turn both screws at least 6 full turns CCW (counter-clockwise); the motor should now start moving a short distance in both directions and you can now adjust both the UP and DOWN limit positions.

Note 3: It is important to know that motor limits can only be set if the motor is fully inserted into the shade tube! If the motor has been removed from the shade tube, the tracking ring at the motor head that sets the limits does not turn together with the motor drive and is thus unable to set any limit positions. You MUST install the motor fully into the shade tube and then set the limits. 

Step by step instruction to set the limits:

1. If you purchased the whole shade, the limits are already adjusted in the factory and you do NOT need to go through this process.
2. If you replaced Motor, then you have to follow these steps after you installed the motor inside the shade and installed the shade.
3. By referring to above 4 pictures try to find which screw represents for top limit and which one for bottom limit. Please note on double roller shade, if the fabric rolled in reverse of each other the screw that represent the top limit is different on each of these shades.
4. Bring the shade down almost 10 inches to the bottom.
5. Turn the bottom limit screw on the motor CW for several turns, then momentarily press down button. If you see the shade still moving down, turn the button screw several more turns CW and re-check. You have to do this over and over until to the point when you press down switch momentarily, you see the shade does not react and not going down anymore. Sometimes you have to turn the screw a lot (over 150 turns) to reach to this point.
6. At this point, while you hold the wall switch pressed down, you turn the bottom screw on the motor CCW. Now you see the shade moves down while you turn the screw CCW accordingly. This way you adjust the bottom limit.
7. Now bring the shade almost 10 inches to the top.
8. Turn the top limit screw on the motor CW for several turns, then momentarily press up button. If you see the shade still moving up, turn the top screw several more turns CW and re-check. You have to do this over and over until to the point when you press up switch momentarily, you see the shade does not react and not going up anymore. Sometimes you have to turn the screw a lot (over 150 turns) to reach to this point and sometimes you reach this point after a couple turns.
9. At this point, while you hold the wall switch pressed up, you turn the top limit screw on the motor CCW. Now you see the shade moves up while you turn the screw CCW accordingly. This way you adjust the top limit.
